Step Brother Movie Review

Step Brothers is a 2008 film co-produced by Judd Apatow. The movie is about 39 year old Brennan Huff, played by Will Ferrel, and Dale Doback, played by John C. Reilly. Brennan and Dale have a few things in common. First, they are both about 40ish years old, never have a job, live with their parents, and most importantly, are now step brothers. Once their parents fall in love and get married, the two unlikely friends must live together in the same room. At first, their is a big rivalry between the two. Their intense rivalry and narcissism break the family apart. Eventually, the two brothers discover that they share similar interest. The two immature adults share secrets, have sleepovers, laugh at fart jokes, and you get the rest. They start acting like brothers. Image result for Step brothers

Dale: Yep!

The famous “Karate in the garage” is a classic line from this movie. This quote is one of the most important to me because it reminds me of true brotherhood. I have 2 younger brothers who I didn’t always get along with growing up. Obviously we had our fights, annoyed each other, rivaled, but at the end of the day are best friends. Although Dale and Brennan are about 40 years old, they remind me of the good times growing up I had with my brothers. Playing Star Wars, making fart jokes, having sleepovers with friends/cousins etc. Step Brothers is a great comedy movie, but to someone like myself, represents something more. There’s nothing like “tough brotherly love” which is why I love this movie. Step Brothers is an all-time classic to myself and lots of other movie fans around the world. This Is 40 Movie Review

This is 40, a movie produced and directed by Judd Apatow, was a 2012 American Comedy staring Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann. The movie is based off of Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up Debbie, played by Leslie Mann, and Pete, played by Paul Rudd are about to turn 40. The movie is about the couple, whom has been married for years, and the problems in their personal life, their kids, their marriage and their age. It sheds a comedic light on problems most people face mid-life. Image result for this is 40 For example, Pete can’t get his record company to take off, one of Debbie’s employee’s is stealing from the store, their kids are constantly fighting and arguing while they also have a 3rd on the way. The Big Sick Funniest Moments

Judd Apatow’s The Big Sick was an American romantic comedy film that hit the cinemas in 2017. It took Judd and his wife over 3 years to write the film as they wanted it to be funny but also portray a certain message. The film is about an uber driver, want to be comedian, named Kumail. Kumail is Muslim but becomes agnostic behind his parents back. They believe he still practices Muslim. Kumail ends up dating a white women which would be extremely frowned upon if his parents found out. One of his cousins got disowned from the family for marrying a white women. Without giving too much away, a big message Judd was trying to get across in this film was you don’t know whats going on in peoples private lives. Specifically people who have immigrated to the US. Freaks and Geeks Behind the Scenes

Freaks and Geeks was a TV series made by Paul Feig and produced by Judd Apatow. It aired on NBC from 1999-2000. Unlike other works that Judd Apatow produced, Freaks and Geeks was a television show as oppose to a movie. The series actually gained a lot of popularity before it was canceled before its second season. They simply did not have a good platform to play it on. The Series started James Franco, Samm Levine, Seth Rogan, Jason Segel, John Francis Daley, and Linda Cardellini. Freeks and Geeks was one of those comedy series you could watch with the family. Fans were very upset to find it getting canceled. It truly was a success and a failure. Judd claims that he had a crazy idea for a character in season 2 we wish we could’ve seen. The 40 Year Old Virgin Best Moments

Judd Appatow’s The 40 Year Old Virgin, which hit the cinemas in 2005, is about Andy Stitzer, Steve Carrel, as a single guy, in his 40’s, nerdy, geeky, and works at an electronic store. This hilarious film follows Andy as him and his coworkers/friends try and help him get laid. What I find funny about this film is that it is a group of adults acting like a group of kids. Its a satire based on being a virgin in high school or college where one friend hasn’t done it yet so the rest awkwardly and relentlessly try and help them. Jonah Hill

Jonah Hill was born on December 20th, 1983 in Los Angeles California. Hill started his career with inspirations of being a writer. He wanted to be a writer for The Simpsons or Saturday Night Live. In College, he moved to New York to study drama at The New School where he began writing and performing plays. In 2007, Jonah earned a staring role in the hit comedy Superbad which won him a teen choice award. In 2011, Jonah co-starred alongside Brad Pitt in the film Moneyball which won him an scar and golden globe nomination. In 2012, Jonah starred 21 Jump street, another comedic classic. And in 2013, Jonah stars alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wallstreet, which in my opinion, is one of the best movies of all time. Jonah wins another Oscar Nomination for his performance in The Wolf of Wallstreet.

Funny People Movie Review

Judd Apatow’s, Funny People, released in 2009. Stares Adam Sandler. The movie is about his character George, a superstar stand up comic, who finds he has a short time to live. George although famous and successful, lives an isolated life. He doesn’t really have anyone to go to when he hears of this news. On a trip, George meets a hungry, ambitious young kid named Ira Wright, played by Seth Rogan. George first hires him to write for him and as they become better friends, allows him to work his way up the ranks. George eventually ends up befriending Ira and tells him about his worries. Laura, played by Leslie Mann was the one that got away. George encounters her again in the film only to find she is married to an Australian man. Success shut George and Laura’s relationship down, but George now finds her as a good outlet for him to talk to. Whats nice about this movie, is that Adam Sandler doesn’t play the typical role his fans are used to. He is much more serious and depressed in this movie, so if you’re a fan of Adam Sandler you definitely need to check this one out. If you’re interested in the movie, check out this trailer.
