Step Brother Movie Review

Image result for Step brothersStep Brothers is a 2008 film co-produced by Judd Apatow. The movie is about 39 year old Brennan Huff, played by Will Ferrel, and Dale Doback, played by John C. Reilly.  Brennan and Dale have a few things in common.  First, they are both about 40ish years old, never have a job, live with their parents, and most importantly, are now step brothers.  Once their parents fall in love and get married, the two unlikely friends must live together in the same room.  At first, their is a big rivalry between the two.  Their intense rivalry and narcissism break the family apart.  Eventually, the two brothers discover that they share similar interest.  The two immature adults share secrets, have sleepovers, laugh at fart jokes, and you get the rest.  They start acting like brothers.  Image result for Step brothers

Brennan: Did we just become best friends?

Dale: Yep!

Brennan: Do you wanna do Karate in the garage?

Dale: Yep!

The famous “Karate in the garage” is a classic line from this movie.  This quote is one of the most important to me because it reminds me of true brotherhood.  I have 2 younger brothers who I didn’t always get along with growing up.  Obviously we had our fights, annoyed each other, rivaled, but at the end of the day are best friends.  Although Dale and Brennan are about 40 years old, they remind me of the good times growing up I had with my brothers.  Playing Star Wars, making fart jokes, having sleepovers with friends/cousins etc.  Step Brothers is a great comedy movie, but to someone like myself, represents something more.  There’s nothing like “tough brotherly love” which is why I love this movie.  Step Brothers is an all-time classic to myself and lots of other movie fans around the world.  If you’re interested in checking out the movie, check out this trailer.

Seth Rogen

Seth Rogen is one of Judd Apatow’s go to guys for his goofy comedy movies.  Seth is a Canadian born American actor who also does stand up comedy, writes, produces, and directs.  Seth was born April 15th 1982 in Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada.  Rogen was born to liberal Jewish parents.Image result for seth rogen comedy

When Seth was only 13, he began doing stand up comedy at a local comedy club.  He was performing among people that were more than twice his age.  Three years later, he auditioned for a High-school television comedy drama called “Freaks and Geeks”.  Although the show was short lived, producer Judd Apatow was extremely impressed with Seths ability in front of the camera and hired him as an actor and writer on his new series “Undeclared”.  This series met a similar fate to “Freaks and Geeks” so Seth began working as a writer for Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Da Ali G Show”Image result for seth rogen

Although Seth and Judd went different paths, this wasn’t the end of their careers together.  Seth made appearances in some of Judd’s early films such as “The Legend of Ron Burgundy” and “The 40 Year Old Virgin”.  Rogen’s collaboration with Judd didn’t end their either.  They went on to produce hit movies such as Superbad, Pineapple Express, and Neighbors.

Seth really did have an extremely impressive and accomplishing career.  Ever since he was 13, he was showing signs of something special.  The best part is, his career isn’t over yet.  He still has movies set to come out and will have many more to come.  He truly is a cinematic legend and I expect good things in his future.

Bridesmaids Behind the Scenes

Judd Apatow’s 2011 Bridesmaids had some pretty wacky moments, so you can only assume that the bloopers are just as good.  From Annie’s crazy drunk scene, to her crazy fit while at the Bridal shower, the film has some hilarious bloopers and deleted scenes.  If you thought that the movie was hilarious, then you definitely need to check these out.

Bridesmaids Best Moments

Judd Apatows Bridesmaids had some pretty crazy moments.  The 2011 comedy took the media by storm for its original approach to comedy.  The film had audiences full attention as it is a comedy unlike no other, especially because it is aimed towards women.  This is my moms favorite movie.  She has the CD and used to hide it from us when we were kids.  Without further ado, here are Judd Apatows Bridesmaids funniest moments.

Bridesmaids Movie Review

Bridesmaids, a Judd Apatow produced movie that was released in 2011, is a movie about a group of girlfriends who are about as crazy as the guys in The Hangover.  Lillian, played by Maya Rudolph, is getting married and the girls are flying out to Vegas for the wedding.  “What happens in Vegas, starts on the plane” is their motto.  Annie, played by Kristen Wigg expects to be maid of honor.  She is rivaled by her friend Helen, played by Rose Bryne.  This rivalry eventually leads to the breakdown of Annie in a French-themed bridal shower.  What is so special about Bridesmaid’s is that it’s a crossover of a Chick-Flick and Raunchy comedy.

These’s girls dirty jokes could rival those of The Hangover.  The movie shows that women compete with men when it comes to vulgarity, sexual frankness, lust, vulnerability, over drinking, and insecurities.  Judd is consistently involved in movies that connect audiences such as this one.  Because of the films focus on female characters, it truly is a different type of comedy.  If you are a women, this is a must see.  Only the manliest of men will watch this movie as it may make some people uncomfortable.  In the end, the movie is warmhearted and ends nicely.  I would definitely recommend a friend to watch this film.  If you are interested, check out this trailer.

The Big Sick Funniest Moments

Judd Apatow’s The Big Sick was an American romantic comedy film that hit the cinemas in 2017.  It took Judd and his wife over 3 years to write the film as they wanted it to be funny but also portray a certain message.  The film is about an uber driver, want to be comedian, named Kumail.  Kumail is Muslim but becomes agnostic behind his parents back.  They believe he still practices Muslim.  Kumail ends up dating a white women which would be extremely frowned upon if his parents found out.  One of his cousins got disowned from the family for marrying a white women.  Without giving too much away, a big message Judd was trying to get across in this film was you don’t know whats going on in peoples private lives.  Specifically people who have immigrated to the US.  One of the reasons I like this film so much is that I think the message is so important.
